Our passion for hospitality goes along with our important and deep-rooted farming tradition. Casa Carlotta was one of the first farmhouses to be opened in the Valdichiana valley. We started renovation and refurbishment works in our family country house in 1998.
The owner Lido, together with his wife Emilia and their son Massimo, wholeheartedly decided to turn the old country house of the 19th century owned by the Lodovichi family into the current tourist accommodation facility. The whole renovation process has been carried out in full respect of Tuscan tradition, which has been jealously preserved.
Agriturismo Casa Carlotta is part of Azienda Agricola Lodovichi Massimo, a farm that covers an area of about 45 hectares including an olive grove of about 3 hectares and fields of sunflowers, alfalfa and wheat.
Typical local specialties and our farm products like wine, oil, fruits and organic honey are on sale at the farmhouse, so our guests can buy them directly on site.
The farmhouse clients have the opportunity to go on a great wine tour with the mistress of the house, Carlotta, who will lead her guests on a visit to the vineyard and the winery of the Illuminati estate, where she works as a manager.
Her guests will be free to take a walk among the rows of vine, enjoying the view and the typical Tuscan landscape, and to take part in the grape harvest, if it is the right time of the year.
Then, they will be accompanied to the winery where, after a visit inside the cellars, they will be invited to taste the IGT Syrah wine named “Maestà di Santa Luce” paired with delicious Tuscan specialties such as cold cuts, cheese, bruschette, bread and tomato soup, bread and vegetables soup while admiring a hilly landscape with 70 hectares of orchards and the beautiful town of Cortona in the background laying on its smooth hillside.
